How does one provide education and training that is accessible to everyone and yet doesn’t pull parents and professionals away from their own children? How does one join the sparks of like-minded individuals who have a love of children, a belief that parents are their children’s best bet, and the desire to foster student-teacher relationships? How does one equip and actively support those who wish to teach and practice this attachment-based developmental paradigm wherever they are around the globe, without unnecessary expenditures of time and travel? How does one deliver world-class education and training programs without heavy investments in buildings and property?
The Neufeld Virtual Campus is our singular solution. It is a state-of-the-art campus created through advanced internet technology. It has a campus like feel with places for dialogue and discussion, a library of resources, information centres, program centers, a place to become acquainted, and even a special place for educators to support each other in this approach. It is built to be intuitive and easy to navigate, even for the computer neophyte, yet full of surprises to discover. For the unsure, there are campus tours to familiarize with the features and surroundings. The campus also has centres for individuals who are studying this approach or supporting each other in languages other than English: Hebrew, German, French, Spanish or Swedish. It is designed for people to go to the campus when they wish and to interact how they wish, rather than feel obliged to respond to email that often comes unbidden.
The virtual campus is home to our distance education program as well as to our authorization programs designed for those who wish to teach and practice this approach. It is also home to the Neufeld Institute internship program for those individuals on track to become Neufeld Institute Faculty. Complimentary study passes are available for all students for the duration of their course or program.
The vision for the campus is to connect a core group of individuals who have studied this paradigm and who are seeking support as well as contact with others who share this understanding and language. Ongoing membership to the campus is therefore available to all those who have completed the Neufeld Intensive One (available both onsite or through distance education). Our hope is that in connecting the sparks of interest and in facilitating informed dialogue, collective consciousness will grow and a difference will be made in our society and in the lives of children. There is a yearly membership fee of $150 to support the technological infrastructure and the campus administration.
