These individuals are authorized to organize, support and facilitate the various courses developed by Dr. Neufeld for parents and/or educators and/or helping professionals. Many of the courses are video-based, while others, particularly in those offered in languages other than English, may be audio based. Some of these courses are available in a distance education format as well. All individuals have been carefully selected and have completed a program of studies and training to equip them to provide this service.



Gail Carney,  a retired Art School administrator and a working artist, is currently the Director of Neufeld Institute Advanced Studies. She also acts as Program Advisor for those interested in study with Dr Neufeld's material, and is the campus librarian.

Gail has spent a lifetime educating and helping artists of all ages and has a special interest the paradigm as it applies to expression and its role in a child's  development.

Gail is the Course Coordinator for Making Sense of Play.  She has studied with Dr Neufeld since 1992 and applied his approach  in supervision of staff and students at Emily Carr Unversity of Art and  Design in Vancouver, British Columbia. She has been on faculty with the  Neufeld Institute since 2007.

In addition to her involvement in the arts, Gail has maintained an  active interest in the sciences throughout her career. Her own field,  that of ceramics, requires a strong scientific aptitude for success.
